Everything You Need to Know to Prepare & Feel Your Best

A Sedona photoshoot is unlike anything you've experienced before. We'll be out amongst the red rocks where the light is extraordinary, the scenery is unforgettable and the energies are amazing.

About Your Photographer

Mégane Claire is an internationally published photographer with two decades of experience. She has always been artistically driven, exploring a vast array of creative endeavors and skills before settling on photography. She graduated from NOCCA in visual arts and furthered her artistic studies at Tulane University. Modeling in the major markets of the U.S. and Europe gave her rare insight into the world of fashion photography from both sides of the lens.

Now based out of Sedona, Mégane brings that same internationally refined eye to the red rocks. In her words, "My passion is being a part of the connectivity for which the expansive energy of the universe is shared. There is beauty in every single moment and I am so grateful to be a part of it."

Published in Vogue, Vanity Fair, PHOTO, Glamour, Esquire and FHM worldwide as well as photographed many worldwide campaigns and advertisements for GUESS.

What to Expect

Here's the shape of a typical session so nothing feels like a surprise on the day.

The Journey In

So Many Beautiful Locations to Choose From

Whether we drive right up to the location or take a short hike in together, Sedona has an abundance of stunning settings to work with. From easily accessible viewpoints and iconic villages to secluded red rock trails, every option has its own magic.

We'll find the perfect location for you based on your comfort level, our vision, and the light we're working with that day.

Outfits & Style

We Plan Your Look Together

We'll work on your outfit choices together before the shoot so you feel confident and prepared. The one thing to keep in mind: if we are hiking to the location, comfort on the trail matters.

Plan to wear easy, packable clothing you can change out of, and bring your session outfits in a small bag. A light jacket is a good idea for sunrise and sunset sessions when the desert air is cooler.

✦

No Hiking Required

Shoots are available without hiking.

If you're interested in booking a shoot without hiking, that's absolutely available too. Sedona has beautiful locations that are completely different from the surrounding mountains. Charming villages, stunning archways, and amazing settings that make for beautiful images, all without a trail in sight.

Trail Levels

Every session is matched to a location that suits your fitness and comfort level as well as looks you have in mind. Just let me know where you're at, there's no wrong answer.

✦ Easy

Gentle & Accessible

Short, relatively flat paths with well-marked trails. Many locations are just a 5 minute walk. Ideal if you're not a regular hiker, have mobility considerations, or simply prefer a relaxed walk to the shoot location.

You'll still arrive somewhere stunning, Sedona makes that easy.

Under 1 mile · Minimal elevation · Firm trail surface

✦✦ Moderate

A Little Adventure

Some uneven terrain, a modest incline, and a slightly longer walk, but nothing that requires special training or experience. If you enjoy a weekend walk or occasional light hiking, this is very manageable.

The payoff in scenery and photographs is significant.

1–2 miles · Some elevation gain · Rocky in places

✦✦✦ Adventurous

Into the Red Rocks

For those who love to hike and want to reach the more dramatic, secluded locations. These trails involve real elevation, rocky scrambles, and a genuine sense of exploration.

The images from these locations are extraordinary.

1–2 miles · Elevation gain · Rugged terrain · Some scrambling
👟

Important · Footwear

Please wear proper hiking shoes.

Hiking shoes or sneakers are required for all sessions, no sandals, flip flops, or heels on the trail. Sedona's terrain is rocky and uneven underfoot, and the right shoes make a real difference in your comfort and safety getting to the location. Once we arrive, you're welcome to change into any footwear for the shoot itself, but sturdy, closed-toe shoes for the hike are non-negotiable. If you're unsure what counts, a supportive sneaker with good grip works perfectly well.

Nourishment & Hydration

Taking care of your body before and during the session means you'll feel energized, comfortable, and fully present, and it shows in the photos.

🍳

Before You Arrive

Eat a Real Breakfast

Please don't skip this one, especially for sunrise or morning sessions. A proper meal beforehand keeps your energy steady, your mood lifted, and your body ready for the hike.

💧

Stay Hydrated

Water with Electrolytes

Sedona's high desert elevation and dry climate mean your body loses moisture faster than you might expect, even on cooler days. Proper hydration keeps you feeling your best and helps you look radiant on camera.

🍎

On the Trail

Bring Snacks

An energizing snack tucked in your bag is a simple way to keep your energy up, especially during longer sessions.

A Note from Your Photographer

You don't have to be a hiker. You just have to arrive.

I've hiked and searched the incredible red rocks, mountains and vistas to find the perfect spots. I'll do my best to help you feel safe and comfortable every step of the way. I can't wait to create something beautiful with you out there.
